Fotoholics Day Trip to Melbourne Zoo! 03/16/2012
Come join the Melbourne University Photography Club on Saturday 24th March from 9.45am until 4.00pm for a fun-filled day at the Zoo. This is a great opportunity to meet other members, to learn more about what makes a good wildlife photo, or to just enjoy a relaxing day with friends. It doesn't matter what kind of a camera you have, or even whether you own a camera. Non-members are also welcome. We will be meeting at 9.45am at the main entrance. Please bring a picnic lunch, or money to buy lunch, as we will not be providing food this time around. The cost is $15 for club members, and $20 for non-members. If you would like to attend, please find the Fotoholics table on the ground floor of Union House between 12pm and 2pm, Monday 19th to Friday 23rd March. If you can't make it to the table, please email rsvp@fotoholics.org How to get there: Tram 55 runs from William Street Monday through Sunday, stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo. Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield line Monday through Sunday, stopping at Melbourne Zoo's own Royal Park Station. Hope to see you there! The next Fotoholics event will be a day trip to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. Enjoy a spring day among fields of colourful tulips, a welcome contrast to Melbourne's recent incessant rain. We will also have a few models coming along with us. So bring along your cameras, and try not to go too crazy with your saturation slider...
Fotoholics Daytrip - Sovereign Hill 08/12/2011
The new Fotoholics committee is happy to announce their first event, a day trip to the picturesque Sovereign Hill near Ballarat. See how people lived during the gold rush of the 1850s. Walk around and take photos in an authentic gold rush town, full of redcoat soldiers, gold miners, old-style shops and funny looking people wearing old outfits. Explore actual mine-shafts, ride coaches and pan for gold. Who knows, maybe you’ll find enough to buy that L-series lens you’ve been coveting...
