To the new members, welcome! To those returning, welcome home. We had a wonderful turnout for our first event albeit the weather was not exactly perfect, it did rain. However, the Fotoholics Committee hopes you guys had a wonderful time especially the ones who are new members and was your first event! Never fear, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet up with everyone again soon. We plan to see you guys in our highly anticipated upcoming events! The new Committee has landed!

Hello all! With the new beginning of the semester we have created a new committee for the year of 2012 and 2013. Our President Jun Yeu, Vice President Regina Chan, Treasurer Phaik Yie, Secretary Jonothan Mac and 11 others are leading the team for Fotoholics.

We firstly want to thank all that could make it to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year and for those who missed out, we look forward to seeing you in this year events! Also we would like to wish the previous Committee a humble farewell and a gracious thank you for the hard work they have done for the period of 2011 and 2012. 

Secondly, this year we would like to start off by inviting you all to our very first event for the semester which will be a photo-walk through the city on a weekday when the building lights shine brightest and the night is buzzing with people. Event details are below:

Welcome BBQ & AGM

Welcome back to Semester 2 everyone! Our first event for this semester is the Fotoholics Welcome BBQ and AGM. Participate in the Fotoholics election and meet our new Fotoholics committee! A free BBQ dinner will be provided for Fotoholics members as part of the itinerary for the evening. This event is a great way to get to know Fotoholics and make new friends as you prepare for another year of exciting Fotoholics events!

Outdoor Portrait Day Photo Submission

Hey guys! If you haven't submit your photos to us already (free hugs for those who have submitted! :D), please do send them in ASAP before the deadline! The submission guideline is as below:

  1. Save your files as JPG, with resolution of at least 2800 pixels on the longest end. This will give a target file size of about 500KB - 1MB for a reasonable level of quality.
  2. Rename all your files as your name, and a sequence number (e.g. BobSmith1, BobSmith2, BobSmith3).
  3. Highlight all files, right click and select Properties. In Properties, go to the "details" tab and type in your name in the comments column so the models know who took the photo.
  4. Zip up your files and email it to this submission@fotoholics.org, in a new email with "<your name> - "Outdoor portrait photos" in the subject.

Join Fotoholics for a fun and informative outdoor portrait shoot around Melbourne Uni, with professional models so that you can learn the most effective ways to add people to your photos. You will be able to direct the models, and will learn how to use flashes and studio lights to get the shots you're looking for!

Fotoholics Spring Break Camp: Wilsons Promontory

Once again, it's time for Fotoholics' Easter Break Camp! This time
around we're going to WILSON'S PROMONTORY, the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, and arguably the most beautiful. Come and
experience three days of amazing landscapes, pristine beaches, lush
forests and great company. Our camps are consistently enjoyable, and are great opportunities to see new places, make friends and become better photographers.

Dates: Friday the 13th April-Sunday the 15th April.
Time: Meet at 9am SHARP at Law Building
Cost: Members $160, Non-members $170 (includes transportation,
accommodation and dinner.)

RSVP: We will have a table set up in Union House for bookings on Mon-Fri (2nd-6th of April) at 12-2pm .
Places are limited so be quick!!

TARGETED AUDIENCE:
Despite the misleading title, this seminar is for BOTH amateurs and 
professionals and is about "PEOPLE AND SOCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY". The 
genre focus is Wedding photography, however all techniques and 
professionalism topics discussed is applicable to ALL family events, such 
as graduations, birthdays, gatherings, family photos etc.

The event is designed for everyone, however actual wedding photographers and wannabe wedding photographers are also welcome and will find the event valuable from both a content and networking perspective.

Fotoholics is hosting a Photo Booth at MUOSS Night Market this Thursday! Suit up LIKE A SIR, and get ready to Rock and roll a-la ELVIS! It's a MASQUERADE foam party! Write a MESSAGE to the world! Latecomers will not be FRAMED and shot after the night ends!

(All props in the poster will be available on that night!)

Location: Union Lawn, Melbourne University

$5 for 60 seconds of non stop shooting in a professional studio set up!
Only $3 if you present your 2012 fotoholics membership card!
