The new Fotoholics committee is happy to announce their first event, a day trip to the picturesque Sovereign Hill near Ballarat. See how people lived during the gold rush of the 1850s. Walk around and take photos in an authentic gold rush town, full of redcoat soldiers, gold miners, old-style shops and funny looking people wearing old outfits. Explore actual mine-shafts, ride coaches and pan for gold. Who knows, maybe you’ll find enough to buy that L-series lens you’ve been coveting...
When: Saturday 20th August, 2011

Time: 7.30am sharp. We need to take your attendance, and
the train will be departing at 8am sharp, so we have to be prepared by then.
We will leave Sovereign Hill about 4.15pm by the shuttle bus and we will take the 5pm train back to the city. We will be back in the city at approximately 6.30pm.

Meeting at: Southern Cross Station near the corner of Collins and Spencer Sts. at the VLine ticket booth.

How: We will be travelling there by VLine train via Ballarat. Approximate travel time is 1.5 hours. Then, we will take the shuttle bus from the train station to Sovereign Hill.

Cost: $40 for members, $45 for non-members (transportation and entrance fee are included)

Bring your own lunch and snacks, otherwise bring cash to purchase at Sovereign Hill. Lunch will not be provided by Fotoholics.
