Fotoholics - Melbourne University Photography Club:

Fotoholics is a photography club based at the University of Melbourne, which is open to the general public. Unlike traditional photography club, Fotoholics activities tend to be more practically orientated and less meeting orientated. As a photography club at an educational institution, Fotoholics also has a strong leaning towards teaching and learning, and is passionate about organising fun and rewarding activities, and running inspirational and insightful workshops. 

Fotoholics is funded by both member contributions as well as the Melbourne University Student Union and is run by a committee of University of Melbourne students elected by members annually.

Fotoholics is a relatively new photography club, being founded at the end of 2006 by Alvin Cheng and Jeanette Zhao. Fotoholics has been lead by Stanley Tjhie from 2007-2009 and Dawei Ye from 2009-2010.

Annual Membership Signups exceeds 300 photographers, and the club alumni is over 1000 photographers.

Fotoholics welcomes all photographers and prospective photographers (and also those just interested in fun, sightseeing and travelling), students and non students, young and old, and hope that your membership with Fotoholics is a rewarding one. To become the largest and most rewarding photographic organisation in Australia advancing photography, and providing value for both members and the wider community alike.

Objectives:

1. An organisation through which members and the wider community are able to engage, interact and share their photographic work and participate in photographic activities
2. Promotion of Photography as an art and as a pastime
3. Provision of Quality Photographic Services to the wider University Community
4. Education of members to improve their photographic skills and knowledge
